The shocking images of the 5 mile radius of floating plastic litter in the Caribbean Sea both saddened and maddened me whilst making me feel guilty about what mankind is doing to our lovely planet. As I live near the sea and have a crazy Labrador cross Springer Spaniel I am often found on the beach - not starring out to sea but head bent either picking up litter or picking up beautiful sea glass.  The sea glass I keep and recycle into art; the rubbish goes straight into the nearest council bin or recycling container. Manufacturers are slowly adjusting their practices which means reducing their use of  plastic packaging which is good news but it did make me think hotels/guest houses/b&b's should also get their act together to be more environmentally friendly. Princess Theatre Torquay

The Princess Theatre in Torquay always has some fantastic shows throughout the year and this one is no exception. The theatre is only a 10 minute walk from our bed and breakfast and we are more than happy to arrange tickets for any shows you might want to see. If you are a lover of Strictly Come Dancing this would be the show for  you.  Staring Brendan Cole the show All Night Long is coming to Torquay on February 7th. The show also includes Brendan's leading lady along with a 14 piece band and singers to portray a mix of  Latin fever and ballroom charm. From tantalising Tango to fiery Paso Doble, elegant Foxtrot to breath-taking Waltz - and with a few surprises in store - this is no ordinary dance show.  Take advantage of our 10% off offer during the year, book your tickets for this show and enjoy a fantastic short break.

3 nights for the price of 2!

Happy New Year to all our past and future guests, hoping that your Christmas was a happy and relaxing one. For us it was a chance to evaluate the 2017 season - the highs and lows and throw around some ideas on what to do during the Winter months in the way of renovating and redecorating. Along with this we have had some lovely professional photos taken of room 2, our Kingsize room which was decorated during the year and the guest lounge and dining room redecorated and kitted out with some new wicker style chairs.  Really pleased with the result. Just to let you know we have a super duper deal taking place in January, February and March.  Stay 2 nights and get the third night free.  The price is based on 2 people sharing either a double, superking or twin room and also includes breakfast.  To book click on the Book Now button from our website  http://www.buckinghamlodge.uk/book-now.html Or just email us or telephone for a more personal experience.
